My passion is helping victimized kids. Don’t get me wrong: I don’t sit around hoping kids will be victimized just to keep me from getting bored. But when bad things do happen, I want to be the one who gets the case.
I’ll work night and day for them and put everything else on the back burner.
Before changing my name to Dani Ripper, my name was Mindy Renee Whittaker. I was kidnapped at 15 by Colin Tyler Hicks and held prisoner in his basement. Many years have passed, and, as part of my personal healing and recovery from this terrible event, I wrote a memoir. The problem is, the book is terribly graphic in nature. Preliminary beta readers felt it was too dark, and the subject matter was inappropriate and offensive.
I titled the book, “The Little Girl Who Got Away.” I’m glad I wrote it, but I don’t know if it should be published. I just can’t make up my mind, so I decided to create a poll. What do you think?
