Dani Ripper – private investigator and decoy. Spends a lot of time with John Locke.
Dani Ripper, a Tennessee native, was born as Mindy Renee Whittaker. At 15 she was kidnapped by Colin Tyler Hicks and held prisoner in his basement. She luckily managed to escape and her experience became one of the most high-profile, sought after stories in the country. She eventually had to change her name to not only start a new life and put the past behind her, but escape the paparazzi! Years passed, and as she became comfortable with her new identity, Dani got the courage to write her memoirs about her experience. She titled the book, “The Little Girl Who Got Away.” But, unfortunately, Dani has not found the courage to publish her book because of the dark and graphic nature of the subject.
Today, Dani works as a private investigator, although most of her income is derived from decoy work. More importantly, and as a direct result of her abduction experience, Dani now works diligently as an advocate for victims of child abuse, fighting for their protection and making sure justice is served.
